Erling Lorentzen put Brazil on the map of the global cellulose industry after he founded Aracruz. He was an environmental visionary, a social transformer and a reference for business governance – a vector of ESG decades before the acronym even existed. Erling was also a World War II hero, the first commoner to join the Norwegian royal family and a Brazilian at heart.
The documentary about his journey – “The impossible only takes longer” – was released on January 28, 2023, the day Erling would turn 100 years old. Remembering him is one of the many ways we keep his history and legacy alive.
